sheTalks with Erika Kukral: Confidence, Faith & Building a Business with Purpose

What Inspired You to Start Your Business/Content Creation?

Hi, I hope this isn’t too wordy. I can definitely condense. Let me know what else you need from me! Thank you so much for even considering me for this!

What Inspired You to Start Your Business?

Ultimately, my goal has always been to set an example for my daughter that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. That belief has been my driving force since the very beginning of my nursing career and continues to motivate me every day as a business owner.

I was incredibly fortunate to have a strong support system of family, friends, mentors, and colleagues who encouraged me to take the leap and start my own practice. While there was certainly fear and uncertainty that came with branching out on my own, I knew I wanted to create something that reflected my values, passion, and vision for patient care.

What has been most rewarding is the overwhelming support I've received from my patients. Their trust, loyalty, and belief in me have exceeded my wildest expectations and have reinforced that taking that leap of faith was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

What Challenges Have You Faced as a Woman in Your Industry?

Imposter syndrome, especially in aesthetics, is real.  One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust myself and take up space unapologetically. As women, we're often expected to do it all while making it look effortless. Building a business while being a mother, pursuing higher education, and managing the demands of healthcare has required resilience and a willingness to embrace imperfection.

I've also learned that confidence isn't about knowing all the answers, it's about continuing to show up, learn, and grow even when things feel uncertain.

Passion and Motivation

What do you love most about what you do?

The relationships. I love helping women feel confident in their own skin and watching them leave feeling refreshed, empowered, and more like themselves. Some of the most meaningful moments happen during conversations in the treatment room, where women share their stories, challenges, and victories.

How Do You Stay Motivated on Tough Days?

My daughter is, without question, my greatest motivation. She inspires me every day to do better, be better, and continue pushing forward even when things feel challenging. Shortly after she was born, I realized I wanted to create a better future for both of us, and that realization became the catalyst for many of the decisions that shaped my career and ultimately led me to business ownership.

On tough days, I remind myself why I started. Every challenge, setback, and obstacle is part of a bigger purpose. Knowing that I'm setting an example for my daughter; that hard work, perseverance, and believing in yourself can create opportunities, gives me the motivation to keep going, even when the path isn't always easy.

I am also incredibly motivated by the support I've received from my patients. The growth of my business has been fueled largely by referrals, and that means more to me than words can express. Every recommendation, kind review, and patient who trusts me enough to send their friends and family my way is something I never take for granted. Their support has allowed my business to grow beyond what I ever imagined, and it serves as a constant reminder that the relationships I've built and the care I provide truly matter.

What Advice Would You Give to Other Women Pursuing Their Dreams?

Start before you feel ready. Confidence comes from taking action, not waiting for the perfect moment. There will always be reasons to wait, but growth happens when you're willing to take the first step despite the fear. God will never give you more than you can handle.

Jewelry & Style

What Piece of Jewelry Makes You Feel Most Confident?

My engagement ring. It represents commitment, resilience, and the support system that has helped me pursue my goals and dreams.

How Does Your Personal Style Reflect Your Personality?

My style is classic, polished, and intentional. I love pieces that feel elevated but approachable, much like the experience I strive to create for my clients. I believe confidence comes from being authentically yourself rather than following trends. However, if Lindsey would be my personal shopper, that would be great.

What Does "sheRocks" Mean to You?

To me, sheRocks represents women supporting women, celebrating each other's successes, and recognizing that there's room for all of us to thrive. It's about confidence, strength, authenticity, and lifting others up along the way.

What Piece Are You Going to Add to Your Collection?

A timeless piece that I can wear every day and eventually pass down to my daughter. A piece that carries meaning, memories, and reminds her that women can achieve incredible things.

Empowerment & Giving Back

How Do You Support and Uplift Other Women?

I believe in collaboration over competition. Whether it's mentoring students, supporting fellow business owners, partnering with other local businesses, or simply being a source of encouragement, I try to create opportunities for women to succeed and feel empowered.

What's a Powerful Lesson You've Learned Along the Way?

Success is not a solo journey. The strongest women aren't the ones who do everything alone. Successful women are the ones who build meaningful relationships, ask for help when they need it, and support others in return.

Who Is a Woman That Inspires You?

It's difficult for me to choose just one woman because I've been fortunate to be surrounded by so many incredible women throughout my life and career. From mentors and colleagues to family, friends, fellow business owners, and the patients who have supported me from the very beginning, I've learned something valuable from each of them. Their encouragement, guidance, and belief in me gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities that once felt out of reach.

Most importantly, my daughter inspires me every single day. She is the reason I strive to be better, work harder, and continue growing both personally and professionally. She reminds me why I took the leap into business ownership and why I continue pushing forward through challenges. I hope that by pursuing my dreams and building a life and career I'm proud of, I'm showing her that she can do anything she sets her mind to.

The women who have supported me throughout my journey have shown me the power of encouragement, resilience, and community, while my daughter gives me the purpose and motivation to keep going. Together, they inspire me to become the best version of myself.

What Is One Piece of Advice You'd Give to Another Woman?

Don't shrink yourself to make others comfortable. Your goals, your voice, and your dreams are worthy of taking up space. Believe in yourself, even before the evidence exists, and trust that you're capable of more than you think.

I would also encourage women to lean into their faith and trust God's timing, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Some of the most meaningful opportunities in my life came from taking a step forward before I knew exactly how everything would work out. One of my favorite reminders is Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

There will be seasons when you question yourself, face setbacks, or feel discouraged, but don't let fear keep you from pursuing what God has placed on your heart. Stay faithful, keep working hard, and trust that the right doors will open when they're meant to.
