sheTalks with Angela: Building SAGE, Motherhood and Finding Joy in the Chaos

Sit down with Angela, founder of SAGE Babes + Tots.

Tell us about your journey.
I’m Angela! Wife, mom of two toddlers, and owner of SAGE Babes + Tots. SAGE has been a long time coming. I had the idea of opening a boutique for over a decade, but it wasn’t until I became a mom that I finally went for it. It was a “now or never” moment, I didn’t want to look back and say “what if.”

What inspired you to start?
Having my babies pushed everything over the edge. I wanted to show them what it looks like to follow your dreams.

What challenges have you faced as a woman?
Honestly, it’s not about being a woman, it’s about being a mom. There just aren’t enough hours in the day, and the mom guilt is real, even when you’re building something for your family.

What do you love most about what you do?
The community. I love connecting with people and bringing others together. There are so many talented business owners in Cleveland, it’s inspiring to see everyone lift each other up.

How do you stay motivated?
My kids, Mikey and Filomena. They see SAGE as “mom’s work” and love being part of it. They are the magic behind everything.

What advice would you give to other women?
Build a community. Reach out, find mentors, and surround yourself with positive influences. People are more willing to help than you think—and when you can, be that support for someone else.

Let’s talk style

What piece of jewelry makes you feel most confident?
My engagement ring, an emerald-cut solitaire. It’s simple, classic, and incredibly meaningful.

How would you describe your style?
Right now? Very “mom life”, yoga pants, lots of black, and simple jewelry. But my daughter loves anything that sparkles, which is starting to influence me!

What does “sheRocks” mean to you?
It’s power. It’s positivity. It’s being someone who inspires others.

Empowerment

How do you support other women?
Collaboration. Working with other women has brought so much joy and success. It’s something I truly believe in.

What’s a lesson you’ve learned?
Life is an echo, what you put out comes back to you.

Who inspires you most?
My daughter. She was born at 28 weeks and spent months in the NICU. Today, you’d never know what she went through—she’s the strongest person I know.

One final piece of advice?
Trust your intuition. The older I get, the more I rely on it for big decisions—and it’s never led me wrong.
