For June's sheTalks feature, we're sitting down with Christine, creator of Christine Elizabeth Home, pediatric ER nurse, entrepreneur, DIY enthusiast, and mom of three. From renovating homes to building a thriving content creation business, Christine shares her journey, lessons learned, and what inspires her every day.
What inspired you to start creating content?
I always thought my career path would lead me to becoming a full-time nurse educator. After having my girls, I realized that being home with them was exactly where I wanted to be. Building this business has allowed me to contribute to our family while also having the flexibility to be present for all of the moments that matter most.
Tell us about your journey.
My husband and I originally started an Etsy business called Laces and Lumber making Cricut signs. Social media became a way to share what we were creating. As life got busier and we started growing our family, I stepped away for a while. When we built our home in 2020, I began sharing our building process and DIY projects online. In 2023, I rebranded to Christine Elizabeth Home and expanded my content beyond DIY projects to include home inspiration, fashion, motherhood, and lifestyle content. It completely changed my life.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love connecting with my community around the things I enjoy most. Whether it's encouraging someone to tackle a DIY project, organize their home, or create a space they truly love, it's rewarding to inspire others. I also enjoy sharing motherhood moments and everyday finds that make life easier.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in your industry?
The DIY and home industry can come with a lot of assumptions. People often assume success was handed to you by a husband or family member. I've worked since I was 14 years old and have always been driven. I've learned that I don't need to justify my success to people online.
How do you stay motivated?
Pilates has been a game changer for me. Starting my day with movement and self-care helps me manage the balance of running a business while raising three children.
What advice would you give other women?
Whatever dream you're pursuing, remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. There will be setbacks and moments of doubt. Keep showing up. Keep working. Don't let comparison steal your momentum.
What piece of jewelry means the most to you?
My wedding ring and a necklace with my husband and daughters' initials. They remind me of the support system behind me and the purpose that drives everything I do.
What does sheRocks mean to you?
sheRocks means giving women confidence and beauty through high-quality jewelry.
Who inspires you?
My mom. She balances everything with grace, patience, and love. She has always shown up for our family, and I hope to do the same for my daughters.
