sheTalks December | Our Interview with Alex Mazzurco

This month’s sheTalks interview features local entrepreneur, creative, nutrition coach, and unapologetic go-getter Alex Mazzurco, December’s sheRocks Woman of the Month. Alex sat down with us to talk about her journey, the evolution of her career, the realities of running two businesses, and what confidence truly means to her.

Tell us about yourself and your journey as a business owner and creator.

I’m Alex — or Alex Marshall! — and what many don’t know is that my background is actually in Graphic Design and Marketing. I started sharing on social media almost 10–12 years ago, originally through a CHAARG fitness account, and it snowballed into coaching over 1,000 women over the past eight years. Fitness was my passion project that grew big enough to help me leave my “job job,” but I always kept one foot in the creative world. Today, I coach with LVLTN and run Mouse House Marketing with a few freelancers, serving 30+ clients. I love being able to do both.

What inspired you to start your business?

I’ve always been an oversharer, so social media felt natural. I loved connecting with other women, sharing real stories, and watching how my fitness content could help others. At the same time, I never wanted to walk away from design or marketing — it’s what I went to school for, and it lights me up creatively. My career is really just a blend of both passions.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in your industry?

For years, I struggled with boundaries. I undercharged, over-delivered, and stretched myself thin just to get or keep clients. I’m only now truly finding my voice. There’s such a fine line between generosity and being taken advantage of — something I think a lot of women relate to.

What do you love most about the work you do?

The flexibility. I love that every day looks different and I get to help women in multiple ways — creatively and in their health. The downside is that I never stop working, but I’d always rather be busy than bored.

How do you stay motivated on tough days?

Breathing, leaning on others, setting new boundaries, and recognizing that I don’t need to do it all alone. Stress management is still a work in progress, but I’m getting better!

What advice would you give to women with big dreams?

Go for it. No one is going to build your dream for you. Talk about your business more, show up more, share more. No one will ever care as much as you do — and that’s your power.

Let’s talk jewelry! What piece makes you feel most confident?

My 3-carat sheRocks studs. They brighten the room, my face, and honestly my mood. They’re perfection. Another piece... and I am not a watch girl... but when you find something like this you can't not get it. I found a vintage AP Royal Oak in a size that is no longer made that is a birth year piece. It is so unique and special and I will always cherish this timepiece.

How does your personal style reflect your personality?

My style is more subtle and classic than my personality. She is a bit bolder. But together, it works.

What does sheRocks mean to you?

She shows up. She lifts others. She’s bold. She’s a force. That’s what I see in sheRocks — and in the women who wear it.

What’s the next piece on your wishlist?

Another smaller set of studs for my second holes… or a funky bezel tennis bracelet to add to my stack.

How do you uplift other women?

I’m big on liking, sharing, and commenting on other women’s content — we all need to do more of that! And I’m always happy to offer advice or lend an ear. I was lucky to have mentors early on, and I want to pay it forward.

A powerful lesson you’ve learned along the way?

I always used to tell myself over and over and over... "No one is going to let me starve." The thing is, I would never let myself starve or fail, it just isn't an option.

Who inspires you?

My mom and aunt — strong women who navigated some of the toughest seasons of life with resilience and grace.

One last piece of advice for women?

She isn’t your competition. There is room for all of us.
