sheTalks Woman of the Month: Meet Kimberly Gibson

Chef, entrepreneur, mother of three, and the woman behind Hungry Bee and The Hive.

Big dreams, a passion for bringing people together, and a whole lot of heart. Meet Kimberly McCune Gibson, our newest sheTalks Woman of the Month.

As the woman behind Hungry Bee and The Hive, Kim has built more than a successful business. She's created spaces and experiences that bring people together, celebrate life's meaningful moments, and make her community feel a little more connected.

What began as a small prepared-food business has grown into catering, private chef experiences, and eventually The Hive—a former movie theater that Kim and her husband, Jimmy, transformed into a destination for dining, celebrations, and gathering.

But behind the growth and success is a story rooted in family, resilience, gratitude, and the people who believed in her along the way.

Kim describes herself as an ordinary person given extraordinary support, a perspective that has shaped not only her journey as an entrepreneur but also the way she leads, gives back, and creates opportunities for others.

As a woman navigating the demands of business ownership, motherhood, and a traditionally male-dominated industry, Kim has learned to embrace the qualities that make her a strong leader: compassion, determination, intuition, and an unwavering commitment to the people around her.

And while her days may be filled with running businesses, leading teams, and raising three daughters, she still appreciates the little things that make her feel like herself—including a beautiful pair of diamond earrings that can take her from a chef's coat to a night out.

For Kim, success isn't simply about what you accomplish. It's about the relationships you build, the opportunities you create, and the people you bring along with you.

Her approach to supporting other women is equally inspiring. Whether it's making an introduction, offering an opportunity, sharing advice, or simply believing in someone before they believe in themselves, Kim understands the impact of women showing up for one another.

It's a lesson she hopes to pass down to her three daughters, along with the importance of working hard, accepting help, and building a life that leaves room for the things that matter most.

“Build a life you're proud to live inside.”

It's a philosophy that perfectly captures Kim's perspective on entrepreneurship, family, and success—and one of the many reasons we're so excited to share her story.

From building Hungry Bee and The Hive to finding confidence in her personal style, navigating motherhood, and learning the value of community, Kim's journey is a reminder that some of the most meaningful accomplishments are the ones we share with others.
